Quilt Camp

Finally I am getting some pics on here of what I worked on while at Quilt Camp for 3 nights and 4 days. Cal-co Quilter's Guild sponsors quilt camp at Camp Mishawana near Hastings, Michigan twice a year and it is a wonderful time to be with other quilters and get some serious sewing done. Members will teach classes as well but I always have enough projects and just do my own sewing.

This first top I finished is a fast and effective way to use those gorgeous border prints. This lap quilt took only 2 yards of the border print and then a variety of prints (from your stash??) that were 9 1/2 inches long and cut in different widths from 1 1/2 inches to 3 1/4 inches. The long strips make it easy to quilt too.

I have the backing already...just need to schedule time with the longarm.

This is a BOM from Sharon's Quilts and More in Allegan, Michigan. I have worked on this at several quilt camps and retreats. Except for the top border (I ran out of fabric!!) the top is finally done. Love the bright colors. It is planned to be a wallhanging in my kitchen...some day. The applique is done with heat n' bond light fusible web and will be stitched down when quilted. I like to get 2 things done at the same time whenever possible.
