Strip quilts are a wonderful way of using scraps and there are so many patterns. Yesterday I spent my day pressing, stacking, organizing by color and placing them in shoe boxes.
While visiting in Michigan I purchased this wall hanging kit from Quilt N' Go, another favorite quilt shop. The flowers are 4 patches adding more interest. Loving the border fabric. This was needleturned appliqued and is ready for quilting.
I downloaded a book from Annie's on using solid fabrics and made this table runner. I cheated though by using some batiks in the background. Love the circles and sewed them on by hand. Now to get it quilted.
I could not resist one of the newest Moda lines of fabric called Folklore to start another Blackbird Design in their book, Tending the Garden. The quilt is called Kansas Beauty. The fabric I chose is completely out of character for what one would expect from a Blackbird Design quilt but I am loving the newer and modern colors and it is my quilt, after all. I have the first block finished and another cut out and pinned ready to start hand appliquing. The blocks are 28 inches finished so the 9 blocks make a queen size quilt.
