Organizing Strips

Strip quilts are a wonderful way of using scraps and there are so many patterns. Yesterday I spent my day pressing, stacking, organizing by color and placing them in shoe boxes.

Flowers For Mom

While visiting in Michigan I purchased this wall hanging kit from Quilt N' Go, another favorite quilt shop. The flowers are 4 patches adding more interest. Loving the border fabric. This was needleturned appliqued and is ready for quilting.

Table Runner

I downloaded a book from Annie's on using solid fabrics and made this table runner. I cheated though by using some batiks in the background. Love the circles and sewed them on by hand. Now to get it quilted.

Another Blackbird Design in Moda Folklore fabric

I could not resist one of the newest Moda lines of fabric called Folklore to start another Blackbird Design in their book, Tending the Garden. The quilt is called Kansas Beauty. The fabric I chose is completely out of character for what one would expect from a Blackbird Design quilt but I am loving the newer and modern colors and it is my quilt, after all. I have the first block finished and another cut out and pinned ready to start hand appliquing. The blocks are 28 inches finished so the 9 blocks make a queen size quilt.

Here are my fabrics and 2 blocks.

Fun Fabric

My newest fabric purchase from Quilt N Go after seeing the owner wearing an apron made with this on facebook. Too bad for my Battle Creek friends I bought the rest of the bolt. This will work well for another granddaughter quilt in the new future.

My Second Scrumptious Fabric Quilt

This weekend my second lap size quilt top using Moda's Scrumptious fabric was finished. I still have some odd blocks that could go into a baby size quilt. Just may have to do that....don't think I could ever get tired of working with this fabric. I may HAVE to start making some English paper piecing hexagons with the little scraps too. Oh yeah....getting started soon.

Orange Peel Blocks with Scrumptious Moda Fabric

This is my latest hand applique project while missing my sewing studio still in storage in Michigan. My husband and I are still in search of a home here in Wyoming so in the meantime I am making another quilt top using the yummy Scrumptious line of fabric from Moda. The laptop will have alternating blocks...orange peel and rail blocks. I am making the orange peel in 4 sections making them easier to handle.
