Handi-quilter Avante Up and Running

My husband wasted no time in getting my Avante set up. We still need to tweak the height but that is not stopping me from getting quilts loaded and the machine running. I have had no issues with this machine so far and it sews beautifully. Practice, practice, practice is all I need.

Here is the first small quilt done.

Handi-Quilter Avante

My plan was to try out long arm quilting machines at the AQS quilt show in Paducah. I had already heard wonderful things about the Handi-Quilter Avante but wanted to do some sewing on the Innova, Tin Lizzie as well as other. To make a long story short, Handi-Quilter had a show price I couldn't walk away from so I bought it!!! It was delivered Friday and is in my garage.

My husband suggested we take down a wall to make room which blew me away. This weekend that wall is gone.

Wall in dining room previous owners built to make a bedroom.

This the wall coming down.

After day 1 of demo.

Day 1 of demo showing the pocket door yet to come down.

Day 2 of demo.

Day 2 demo

Wall is down.

The wall for Avante.

Paducah Kits

When I read about the bus trip going to the AQS Quilt Show in Paducah, Kentucky, I jumped at the chance to go. Besides viewing all those awesome quilts, I purchased loads of fabric from Hancock's and Eleanor Burns warehouse for the best buys. I did get 3 kits at the show and finished those this weekend. Two kits are organizers for my sewing room and another kit will go to my grandson due in July.

Crib quilt, fast and easy, with minkee border and flannel backing.

Mug Caddy: lots of pockets inside and outside mug.

Coffee Can Caddy. 4 pockets around the outside.
