Little Bags with Zippers

Atkinson's Designs has 2 new little bag patterns, The Lollipop Bag which is a wristlet, and something-or-other Bagette's. I am so bad at remembering names of patterns...sorry. Anyway I like using wristlets and I like the bagette pattern because you use vinyl and can see what is in the bag plus use cute fabric...what can be better? I will be teaching both these bags at the Quilts at the Marshall House quilt shop on July 20. It will be a bag, bag, bag day. Class is 2 hours, learn to put in zippers and stay all day to make more bags. Wonderful as gifts too.

I add my key ring to this and I am good to go. No need for a big bag to carry all over.

I added a couple little pockets for credit cards, driver's license.

Looks like the pattern says Briget's Bagettes. Pattern has 3 sizes.

My mom is a bingo player and I found this fun bingo fabric at a shop in Manistee and bought a fatt quarter. It will make a nice little bagette for some of her bingo stuff.

Southern Lily by Blackbird Designs

Another quilt top finished designed by Blackbird Designs. I just can't get enough of their work. This is called Southern Lily in their latest book, Weekends. There is also a bed runner pattern in the book I will definitely be doing using the same fabrics...pinks and browns civil war-style... to place over pillows on the bed. This is a queen-size quilt, hand appliqued. Blocks are 25 inches and the border will have scalloped edges once I quilt it. My goal is to have it done for the quilt show in September. You can be sure there will be pics and information about the show. Right now the top is at the Quilts at the Marshall House quilt shop in Marshall, Michigan selling Blackbird Design books and fabric.

10-Minute Block Quilt

This truly is a 10-minute block and another wonderful pattern for showing off fabric you love, love, love and can't wait to make something with it. There are tutorials on You Tube to show how to make this easy block. For this quilt I used a layer cake I purchased at the quilt show in Paducah 3 years ago. I quilted a flower motif in each of the little squares with an over all pattern for the rest of the quilt. This will be a gift quilt.

Strip Tube Ruler Quilt

Using 2 batik jelly rolls and my strip tube ruler I made this quilt. Because I wanted it bigger I added a 12 inch wide strip across the top and added raw edge applique flowers. Yellows and turquoise are speaking to me this spring. Used longarm to quilt in free flowing flower motif. Have fabric to make another one of these.
